Saraste conducts GORDON, Saint-Saëns and Beethoven
23 March 2026
Program change -
Unfortunately, Lionel Bringuier had to cancel his participation in this concert project due to illness. The WDR Symphony Orchestra thanks its former chief conductor, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, who will step in at short notice to conduct the evening's performance, including the world premiee of Geoffrey Gordon's TITUS, after Shakespeare, commissioned by the WDR Symphony Orchestra. This change in conductor also necessitates a change in the rest of the program. Instead of the originally planned Third Symphony by Albert Roussel and Ravel's "La Valse," Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 will be performed.
